Our Acorn Room offers a warm, homely environment designed especially for our youngest children.
Inspired by the Curiosity Approach, we create calm spaces with natural materials, real objects and thoughtful invitations to explore. Babies thrive when they feel safe, settled and connected — relationships are at the heart of everything we do.

Relationships and routines

​​

Our experienced practitioners take time to get to know each child and their family.
We follow a gentle settling-in process and work closely with parents to mirror each baby’s home routine as closely as possible. As babies begin to roll, sit, crawl or take their first steps, we support their physical development through plenty of opportunities to move, climb, reach and explore.

Learning and curriculum

Through everyday routines and playful exploration, we support:
• Early communication — modelling language, songs, stories and simple back-and-forth interactions
• Physical development — encouraging movement, grasping, reaching, crawling and early climbing
• Emotional security — responsive caregiving, warm interactions and predictable routines
• Early problem-solving — exploring real objects, natural resources and cause-and-effect play
• Sensory curiosity — gentle experiences with textures, sound, natural light and nature-inspired materials

Every moment is an opportunity for connection and learning. Our practitioners tune into each baby’s cues, interests and rhythms, creating a peaceful environment where learning unfolds naturally.

Care and key person

​

These experiences help babies to build confidence, curiosity and independence at their own pace. We value routine, comfort and close relationships. Babies are comforted, cuddled and supported by a consistent key person who knows their individual needs. We provide a calm sleep space, healthy meals, outdoor time and plenty of opportunities for one-to-one interaction.

Transition to Beech Room

​

As your child grows, we gently support their early communication, physical skills and social interactions as they prepare for the next stage. When the time is right, we work closely with families to ensure a smooth, happy transition into the Beech Room.
